Abstract
On the basis of the formulated mathematical model for the study of electromagnetic processes in a two-phase (two-inductor) induction channel furnace, electrical losses in the metal frameworks of the furnace were calculated for various options for their sectioning. The influence of the phase angle between the voltages feeding the inductors of the furnace on the distribution of specific and integral losses in the frames is determined. Practical recommendations for reducing these losses in order to increase the efficiency of melting furnaces are presented. References 4, figures 5.
